BMP files are completely uncompressed, so JPG output is typically 95–99% smaller. A 10 MB BMP screenshot commonly produces a 100–300 KB JPG.

Will I see any quality difference?

At 85% JPG quality, the visual difference is imperceptible for photographs and screenshots. Flat-color graphics may show slight edge artifacts.

Does BMP support transparency?

Some BMP variants support alpha channels, but transparency is not preserved in JPG. Transparent areas become white.
