Converthor ("we", "us", or "the Service") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

Uploaded Files

When you upload files for conversion, they are temporarily processed on our servers solely to provide the requested service.

  • Files are not inspected for content beyond technical processing
  • Inputs and temporary files are removed after processing stops. Results are removed after download or by periodic cleanup within one hour after conversion completes. Link expiration is separate from physical deletion
  • Results are held temporarily for download; no copy is retained after deletion

Technical & Usage Data

Every request to our servers is automatically logged, regardless of your cookie consent choices, because this is necessary to operate and secure the Service. This includes your IP address, user agent, referer, and the approximate country and city derived from your IP address via a GeoIP lookup. This data is sent to our server monitoring provider (SigNoz) and used strictly for:

  • Security and abuse prevention
  • System reliability and debugging
  • Aggregated, anonymous usage statistics

3. Cookies, Tags & Consent

Converthor uses Google Tag Manager (GTM) to load measurement and advertising tags, including Google Analytics (GA4) and Google AdSense. These tags are governed by Google Consent Mode: by default, no analytics or advertising cookie is set, and they only activate after you grant consent through our consent banner. The Service works normally whether or not you consent.

  • Essential cookies are required for the site to operate and are not subject to consent
  • Analytics cookies (GA4) and advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are only activated after your explicit consent

Cookie preferences are managed via our consent banner and can be changed at any time.

4. Advertising & Analytics

If enabled, we may display advertisements provided by third-party partners such as Google AdSense. These partners may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with your consent choices.

Analytics tools, when used, are configured to minimize data collection and respect user privacy.

Results are deleted after download, or within one hour after conversion completes at the latest if never downloaded. Server logs and telemetry (IP address, approximate location) are retained for a limited time for security and operational purposes.

  • Request access to your personal data
  • Request correction or deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for non-essential cookies

Due to minimal data retention, we generally hold little to no identifiable personal data.
